Weaving with Glass
Create a woven glass tapestry full of rich colors and textures. In this two-session class you will explore different weave patterns and how to bend and fuse sheet glass strips, stringers, ribbons, and glass rods to create those patterns. The first session will focus on designing your weave, selecting your glass and building slumping forms made from fiber paper to create your warp pieces. The second session will bring your tapestry to life as you cut and place your weft pieces. Add motion and depth to your piece by using SilkeMatTM to create a one of a kind slumping mold. Your weave will be slumped and ready along with your custom mold, to pick up in 1 week.
