Danielle Payne, owner of GlassLink, had always been interested in historical art like stained glass found in churches. She wanted to be an art major in college, but unfortunately art supplies cost too much. Danielle was paying for her college education by herself, so she opted to choose her second favorite subject to study, biology.
Since 1999 Danielle had an art studio in her home, where she taught stained glass classes for three years. However, as time passed, she realized that she needed more supplies to continue. Danielle was working with her husband, Jon Lehrman, at American Tissue Service Foundation, but when the company came close to going under, she and her husband were laid off. Danielle did not waste any time. she wrote a business plan right away, which outlined the business she had in her home, but also included a retail supply store.

|
A Henry David Thoreau quote pushed her to pursue a full-scale company of her own, "do what you fear and the death of that fear is certain". With the help of her family, friends and ex co-workers, Danielle's business plan was put into action within four months. It has been three years since Danielle moved her business to Noble Drive across from Glenbrook Mall. There is much more space than in her home, yet with business increasing, expansion has crossed her mind. |
There is an upbeat energy inside the GlassLink store. The inside is bright and filled with different colored glasses. If you are unsure of what you are looking for at GlassLink, feel free to bring in pictures and measurements of the space you want to fill. With that information, Danielle can recommend items to fill the space. If you bring in a color sample of wallpaper, fabric or anything at all, Danielle and her staff can assist you in matching glass. GlassLink offers a wide selection of glass; Uroboros, Kokomo, Oceana, Spectrum and the list continues.
In addition, GlassLink carries many beautiful types of glass like fusible, dichroic and iridescent. If you don't see what you are looking for, just ask to see their glass sample packs with samples that you can special order. GlassLink also creates custom art pieces to your specifications. From design to creation, GlassLink will provide any assistance that you might need with free estimates. GlassLink also welcomes corporate parties and commissions. Whatever the occasion, GlassLink can set up class time for your company or a consultation for bulk creations.
| A great feature at GlassLink is the use of studio space in the shop. During business hours, customers can use GlassLink's studio area and tools for a $2 per hour fee. Kilns can also be rented for hot glass projects. What a fantastic way to work on projects. GlassLink's staff is never more than a few feet away to answer questions. Danielle loves the flexibility of owning her own business. She enjoys brainstorming through potential obstacles in glasswork and creatively thinking through customers' preferences in glass to create or choose pieces that fit the customers' needs.
